Community celebrations will also be taking place throughout the rest of the valley this week:

July 3 — Avon's Salute to the USA

July 4 — Minturn's Independence Day Celebration

July 4 — Eagle Valley Community Fireworks

VRD Offers Unique Summer Activities Summer is officially here and the Vail Recreation District (VRD) is your headquarters for summer activities and programs. Check out the new fly-fishing and stream ecology program or Starry Nights star gazing and campfire storytelling program at the Vail Nature Center. Beat the heat and come indoors for ice hockey and public skating at Dobson Ice Arena. Watch your golf ball fly 10 percent farther at 8,150 feet at the Vail Golf Club, open to the public. Let the children explore throughout the day or refine their sports skills during a day camp or sports camp. Gain a better understanding of Vail’s local flora and fauna on a wildflower or bird walk or a guided hike with a naturalist. Visit www.vailrec.com for more information on the many offerings available through the Vail Recreation District this summer.
